C & D Auction Marts Ltd held their Annual Christmas Primestock Show & Sale in Dumfries on Wednesday 2nd December 2015.
130 Prime Cattle & OTMS forward
An excellent show of Prime Cattle from throughout the region was presented to the days judge Mr Stuart Ramsey, Kelso who made the following awards,
Champion Rosebowl was won by James Forsyth, Mid Bishopton with 'Jack the Lad' a home bred 18mo Limousin Bullock 655Kg which sold to Ballards Butchers Castle Douglas at 275p (£1801.25).
The Reserve ticket was won by J & L Craik, Waterside with a 605Kg Limousin Bullock selling at 240p £1452 to Mr S McGimpsey, Annan.
Competition was fierce in the Galloway section with Maxwellton Estate Farms, Moniaive taking the Best Galloway Rosette with a 680Kg (26mo) Bullock selling at 220p to PR Duff Ltd Wholesalers, Wishaw destined for the London Restaurant trade.
