C & D Auction Marts Ltd held Weekly Sale of Primestock in Dumfries on Wednesday 31st August 2016.
A small but good Show of Prime Cattle were forward to the usual ringside of buyers and were short of requirements. Good types of butchers cattle met a fast trade selling to a top of 225p for an outstanding Limousin Bullock from Mesr R Neill, Upper Tinwald to John Scott Meat Ltd, Paisley.

37 OTM Cattle forward – Cast Cows met a fast selling trade for all classes and remained short of buyers requirements, selling to a top of 152p for a Limousin from Archbank Farming, Moffat and to £1100.25 for a Simmental x from Mesr Fisher, Merrick who had an excellent run of cows to average just short of £1000.

A fine show of 1053 Prime Lambs were forward to the usual full ringside of buyers and with an excellent show for quality saw one of the best trades this week levelling at 182.5p.
Selling to a top of £95 for Heavy texels from Auchenfad and to 202p for an outstanding pen of Beltex Lambs from Messrs Hyslop, Netherton, and Texels from David Graham, Hillhead.
