C&D Auction Marts held their annual Christmas Primestock show & sale in Dumfries on Wednesday 7th December 2022.
Champion from J & L Craik, Waterside
The prime cattle were expertly placed By J. Craig, Ballards Butchers who found his champion with a homebred limousin heifer from J & L Craik, Waterside scaling 585kg selling at 360p/kg to the judge.
Reserve Champion from J Jardine
Reserve champion from J. Jardine, Yett with a limousin x heifer selling at 350p/kg to R. Johnstone & Sons, Butchers, Annan.
Galloway Champion from JWK Paterson & Son
The galloway championship was awarded to JWK Paterson & Son, Low Three Mark for a bullock with attained 310ppk to W. Lindsay, Butchers, Creetown. Reserve ticket was won by Kilnstown Farms selling to 270p/kg to S. Wilson, Butchers, Corby Hill.
Outwith show 340p/kg Yett to R. Johnstone & Sons, Annan with limousin heifer.

Reserve pen from W. Borthwick & Son, Shangan, 51kg at £154 with Texels, outwith the show trade no sharper due to the increased offerings nationally.
