Dumfries OTM and Prime Cattle Report

C&D Auctions Ltd held their Annual Christmas Show of Prime Cattle in Dumfries on Monday 9th December 2024.

The show was kindly judged by W Kirkup Butcher, Longtown who awarded the Championship Rosette to D&E Lockhart, Faulding Cleugh for an outstanding British Blue Heifer which sold at 460p/kg (360kg) to the judge. Reserve Champion was awarded to R Barr, Meikle Kirkland for a Charolais Cross Heifer at 400p/kg (700kg) also to the judge. The show was kindly sponsored by F Johnstone Tractors.

OTM Cattle met plenty of demand for all classes selling to 248p/kg or £2157.60 from WD Wright, Huntills. Dairy sold to 228p/kg from WJ Kerr & Son, Gamerigg and £1488 from RJ Huston, Branetrigg
