Dumfries OTM and Prime Cattle Report

C&D Auctions Ltd held their fortnightly sale of OTM Cattle in Dumfries on Monday 6th January 2025.

Adverse wintery weather affected numbers with trade being the dearest seen. Beef cows averaged a staggering 234.5p/kg and sold to 308p/kg for a Simmental from JB Paterson & Co, Hartbush and to £2248.20. Dairy cows averaged 166p/kg selling to 216p/kg for an Ayrshire from WL Millar, Ryes. Prime cattle from J Jardine, Yett sold at 355p/kg to R Johnstone & Sons Butchers, Annan.
