Dumfries Store and Breeding Sheep Report

An exceptional show of store lambs for quality were forward to the opening weekly sale of store lambs at Dumfries on Friday 18th August 2023.

Trade was extremely strong and many more could have been sold to advantage.

The sale was topped at £110 by a pen of 20 Charollais cross lambs from Pilmuir, Hawick with another pen from the same home to £104.

Texel crosses made £96.50 from Castle Creavie, Kirkudbright. Other texels to £86 £84 Castle Creavie, Suffolk crosses to £79 Ewanston and £73 Woodfoot. Hampshire crosses to £79 Polquhanity and Cheviot crosses £76 from the same home.
