Dumfries Store and Breeding Sheep Report

C&D Auctions held their Annual Sale of Blackface Ewes and Gimmers with 490 forward on Friday 27th September 2024.

A good ringside of buyers were in attendance and a pleasing trade prevailed with Hallscaur Farming, Glenwhargen selling the top pen at £110 others to £105 from Auchenbrack Estates, Auchenbrack.

Blackface Gimmers made £112 from MHJS Statham, Laghead and to £110 Hallscaur Farming, Glenwhargen. Cheviot Draft Ewes to £120 A McMillan, Hastingshall.

C&D Auctions held the 3rd Annual Aires Flock Production Sale of 42 Texel Gimmers and Ewes on behalf of John Douglas and Family.

These Natural, unpampered well bred females attracted plenty of interest live and online selling to £500 for an Airies Camet sired 1 crop ewe purchased by enthusiast Mandy Graham, Hillend, others sold to £450. Ewes averaged £244.64.

Gimmers sold to £450 sired Airies Fergus to average £300.77
