Dumfries Store Cattle Sale Report

C & D Auction Marts Ltd held their fortnightly sale of Store Cattle on Monday 3rd April 2017 in Dumfries which included the Annual Dumfries and Galloway Overwintering Cattle Show and Sale. An outstanding run of 37 Young Farmers Cattle were a credit to the Young Stock Handlers who presented their cattle in Tip Top condition to a full ring side of buyers.

The Champion Rosette was awarded to Ali Jackson, Maulcastle with 'Black Jack', A Limousin bullock purchased from Gary Bell, Haa-Side at the October Dumfries Calf Sale. 'Black Jack' won best baby beef section at The Scottish Winter Fair. 'Black Jack' sold for £2000 (362.3p/kg) to Gary Bell on behalf of a client for future showing.
