C & D Auction Marts Ltd held their fortnightly sale of Store Cattle in Dumfries on Monday 10th June 2019.

150 forward: All classes looked easier due to the uncertain beef trade.

Bullocks – Lim - £1075 (x2), £1050, £1045, £980 High Auchneel, £1025 Belridding. Short - £1025, £995 High Auchneel. Sim - £940 Victoria House. BB - £920 Upper Moor, £890 Victoria House.

Heifers – AA - £1120 High Auchneel, £880 Upper Moor. Sim - £1090 Shawfield, £980 High Auchneel. BB - £980 Newtonairds, £920 Upper Moor, £860 Backburn. Lim - £965, £890 Cushag, £960 Belridding, £925 New Mains, £900 Upper Moor. Short to £880 Gimmenbie.

Breeding Cattle

C & D Auction Marts Ltd held their special June sale of breeding cattle in Dumfries on Monday 10th June 2019 which included the dispersal of stock cows from Townhead, Parkgate and the annual draft from Kildarroch, Kirkcowan.

The dispersal of the commercial stock cows and calves from M/s Findlay & Sons met plenty of interest from the full ringside of buyers to level at £1733.06.

Cow & bull calf: AA - £2050 (x2), £1850, £1800 (x3). Sim - £1950, £1900. Char - £1850 (x2).
Cow & heifer calf: Sim - £1950, £1750 (x2).Lim- £1900, £1850(x2).AA - £1900, £1800 (x2).
Char - £1700.
Heifer & bull calf: Lim - £2050. Sim - £1850 (x2), £1800. Angus - £1850.
Heifer & heifer calf: Sim - £1900, £1850.
Stock bulls: Char - £4200, £2700, £2300. Lim - £2600. Sim - £2200.

The annual draft of heifers with calves from J Paterson & Co were keenly sought after.
