Dumfries Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report

C & D Auction Marts held their opening store cattle sale of the year in Dumfries on Monday 9th January 2023.

201 Forward – All vendors delighted with returns as buyers competed fiercely for both suckler and dairy bred cattle.

Bullocks sold to £1300 for Limousins from Herries Farms and Shorthorns from D Sloan Backburn
and to 302.3p Herries Farms

Heifers sold to £1370 for Limousins from F R Henderson Kirkbride and to 286p Herries Farms.

The firm had forward an improved quality show of calves which were very easily sold to a strong ringside of competitive buyers.

The sale was topped by an exceptional Belgian Blue x bull calf from S N Graham,Hillend being knocked down at £540 followed closely twice bty a similarly bred stablemate and a Limousin cross steer calf all from the same home at £500 each.
