Dumfries Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report

C & D Auction Marts held their fortnightly sale of store cattle in Dumfries which included the spring sale of Organic Cattle on Monday 3rd April 2023.

186 Organic Cattle – A mixture of both dairy and suckler bred met keen competition, with bullocks selling to £1610 and 389.2p/kg from M. Hamilton, Woolfords, to  average 321.1p/kg. Heifers sold to £1455 Torhousemuir Farming and 334.1p/kg Marshill, Blackwood to average 307.6p/kg.

406 Non- Organic Cattle – Another fast trade ensued with all classes being easily sold.
Bullocks to £1655 from D. Wilson & Son, Marwhirn and 326p/kg Greenfield, Annan.
Heifers topped at £1570 sold by I. Burgoyne, Shenrick and 325.9p/kg Backburn, Cummertrees.
