Longtown Primestock Sale Report

The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart plc had forward 16 prime cattle, 4 young bulls, 7 over thirty month cattle, 308 spring lambs, 4,054 prime hoggs and 3,294 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at Longtown on Thursday 22nd May 2014.

A plainer show of prime cattle on offer, although handy weight sorts remain to trade at recent rates with more required. The sale was topped at 225.5p for a Limousin heifer shown by Messrs A. & W.J. Taylor & Son, Dashwellgreen, bullocks to 217.5p from the same home.
