Longtown Primestock Sale Report
The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart plc had forward 2,123 prime hoggs, 1,683 spring lambs and 3,605 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at Longtown on Thursday 11th June 2015.
A small show of OTM and prime cattle were forward to a full ring of buyers. All classes meeting a brisk selling trade and short of buyer requirements. Many more could be sold to advantage.

Lambs were a larger show to usual ring of buyers and saw the best trade this week averaging 200ppk for 1650. Heavyweight lambs regularly between £95 and £105 with best export quality lambs 220-240ppk. Light weight lambs keenly sought after and many more could be sold to advantage. Top price of £108 per head for Texels from Cowans Farm & Suffolks from Kilnford Croft and to 256p per kilo for Texels from Mossband House.
