Longtown Primestock Sale Report
The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart plc had forward 15 prime cattle, 19 OTM cattle, 2,227 prime lambs, 705 prime hoggs and 3,915 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at Longtown on Thursday 18th June 2015.
Prime cattle sold to a sharper trade as numbers tighten and are short of buyers requirements.

The 2,227 prime lambs were a larger show on the week. Following national trend all lambs were easier on the week, due to many Muslim firms not operating due to Ramadam. Overall average was 180.7p (SQQ 181.3p). Top price of £102 per head for Texels from Four O Boot and to 230p per kilo for Texels from Demesne.
