Longtown Primestock Sale Report
C&D Auction Marts Limited had forward 5,135 sheep comprising of 3,274 prime hoggs, 410 spring lambs and 1,451 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at Longtown on Thursday 20th May 2021.
A good show of cast cows forward, all classes remaining similar. The sale topped at 145p for a Limousin from Wanwood Partners, Wanwood Hill, Alston. Top per head of £897 for a Limousin shown by TN & F Cowan, The Ash, Roadhead.
410 new season spring lambs sold to a top price per kilo of 353p for Texel lambs shown by J Muir & Son, Cleughbrae, Dumfries with top per head of £168 for Suffolk lambs from BJ Haigh, Breckon Hill, Hexham and for Texels shown by I Donaldson, Ashton, Lockerbie.
Overall average 314.3p (SQQ 321.7p)
