Closamectin Kelso Ram Sales 2016
C & D Auction Marts Limited were privileged to sell 360 rams of all breeds at the Closamectin Kelso Ram Sales on Friday 9th September 2016.
A cracking day ensured a packed field of buyers from all over the country, and this year’s much better lamb trade meant more confidence in the sheep sector and bidding was strong in all rings, with best quality sheep demanding a high premium. Vendors were delighted with their trade, all experiencing a significant rise on the year and headed home with smiling faces.
Our sales topped at £1,350 twice, both for Texel x Beltex rams, firstly from Messr s Taylor, Heathery Hall, Thankerton and selling to Messrs Thompson, West Park, Aberfedly, then from Messrs Baillie, Carstair Mains, Lanark selling to Messrs Wilson, Barmoffity, Castle Douglas. In all our rings we saw sixteen four-figure prices and a rise in all averages.
