Kelso Ram Sale 2019

C & D Auction Marts had an entry of 348 rams in 4 rings at Kelso Ram Sales on Friday 13th September 2019. 

Trade was generally good throughout with many of the consignors achieving much increased averages on the year.

The champion Texel in ring 19, a shearling from W.J. & J.G. Bell, Kinninghall, Hawick, made £3,200 to Messrs Robertson, The Becks, Langholm.  The Bell consignment had others at £1,300 and £1,100 and averaged £1,077 for 8.  J. P. Gray, Unthank, Alnwick took £1,080 & £950 in the same ring with Becks & Mainside each to £850.

The cross ram ring number 3 saw A. Taylor, Heatheryhall to £1,500 & £1,350, Neil Harvey, Blackadder Mains £1,100, Messrs Gibb, Toftcombs £1,500, £1,000 (x2) & £900, Mrs Dunlop, Corstane £1,400, £1,050 & £1,000 and R. & M. Paterson, Auchenlay £1,000.

The consignments of Charollais in ring 6 sold to £900 from H. & W. Sloan, Riggheads and the crosses in ring 16 to £1,150, £1,000 & £950 (x2) from R. Runciman, Allanshaws & £850 (x3) West Bolton.
