Longtown Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report

The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers’ Mart plc held their special March sale of store cattle at Longtown on Tuesday 3rd March 2015.

A catalogued entry of 530 store cattle was presented to a packed ringside of both travelled and local purchasers, who ensured that the vendors were rewarded for their efforts in producing such a high standard of stock, equalling any show seen in the North West of England. Prices regularly exceeded the seller’s expectations and Longtown Mart remains very competitive with other local centres. The overall sale average was £1,001.52, an increase of £147 on 2014.
