Longtown Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report
C & D Auction Marts Limited held their fortnightly sale of store & breeding cattle on Tuesday 15th September, 2015 at Longtown Mart, where a catalogued entry of 310 cattle was forward.
Stores again met a buoyant trade here at Longtown, many more could have been sold. The sale was topped at £1,170 twice, firstly for a Limousin heifer shown by A & A Ewing, Dumbretton then again later in the sale for a pen of four Aberdeen Angus bullocks sold by H & WG Robley, Townfoot. Charolais heifers sold to £1,165 from new vendor Mr Colin Davidson, 8 Croft Manor.

A small show of breeding cattle due to several holdings on stand-stills saw a full ring of buyers bid freely for all types. Bulling heifers sold to £1,000 for a pair of Limousin heifers from JW Thomlinson & Son, Standingstone Rigg, who also sold an Angus to £940. Limousins from The Nook sold to £810 for a trio. Cows and calves were on fire with a young Limousin 2nd calver with bull calf at £1,180 from Church Style Farm. Cow with a heifer calf to £1110. Angus cows with a young calf to £1,050.
