Longtown Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report
C & D Auction Marts Limited had forward a catalogue entry of 225 Store Cattle & 93 Breeding Cattle at their annual sale on Saturday 10th October 2015.
Store cattle met a mixed trade with stronger cattle maintaining late rates but the rest harder sold. The sale was topped at £1,110 on three occasions firstly for two pens of British Blue bullocks shown by Devonport Farms then for an Aberdeen Angus bullock from M. & A. Talbot, Lads Lodge.

BULLS
British Blue - £1,000 Laverhay.
93 breeding cattle, including 51 bulling heifers were forward. A good company of local and distant buyers were present and all types and breeds of stock were keenly bid for and total clearance was implemented. The sale commenced with the bulling heifers which topped at £1,100, twice, firstly from Messrs Underwood, Haggistone Holm and secondly from Townfoot, both British Blue x. Limousin x sold to £1,000 from Messrs Fox. Native breeds realised £930 from The Nook.
Cows with calves topped at £2,300 for a Limousin 3rd calver with bull calf at foot from Richard and Pat Armstrong, Slealands, other Limousin sold to £2,050 Mossview. British Blue cow with heifer calf from Haggiston Holm sold to £1,700. Hereford cow with heifer calf to £1,230 from Eastfield Farm. Belted Galloway cow with calf to £760 from Craigmalloch Farms. In calf heifers sold to £1,380 from Haggistone Holm.
