Longtown Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts, Longtown held their fortnightly sale of store cattle on Tuesday 10^th April 2018.  98 store cattle and 15 breeding cattle were forward. A very mixed selection of stores saw trade slightly dearer on the fortnight. The sale topped at £1260 for an Angus bullock sold by Miss F. Gibson, Southwoodhead, whose excellent run of bullocks & heifers averaged £1138. The heifer section topped at £1100, also from Miss F. Gibson. Limousin bullocks sold to £1090 from G.W. Dinnin, Nether Albie.

The Breeding section saw the final consignment from C.A. Grieve & Sons, Snab Farm. Topping at £1500 for a British Blue cow with Limousin bull calf at foot. A British Blue cow with young twin calves sold to £1350. In calf cows selling to £1060.
