Annual Kirkcambeck Sale of Store & Breeding Cattle
C&D Auction Marts Limited had forward a large entry of 1,152 store cattle at the Annual Kirkcambeck sale on Saturday 20th October 2018.
A large ringside of buyers from across the country were presented with a wonderful show of native bred cattle, predominately Blue Greys and Galloways. Trade was as expected, less than last years exceptional sale.
The sale topped at £1,120 for Belted Galloway bullocks sold by E Taylor & Son, Wallish Walls, Consett. Limousin bullocks to £1,100 from N Aitchison, Kershopefoot, Newcastleton who also sold a heifer at £1,080. Angus bullocks sold to £1,080 (x3) from R Moscrop & Son, Border Rigg, Bewcastle. Shorthorns bullocks to £990 from B Cheesbrough, Lanehead, Kirkcambeck and Blue Greys to £970 sold by ME & TR & KM Wallace, Farney Shield, Hexham.
Within today’s sale was also a show for native bred store cattle and for beef shorthorn store cattle; which was kindly supported by Morrisons and the Beef Shorthorn Cattle Society, and both ably judged by Mr Ian Hamilton, Claywalls who’s awards were as follows:
