Longtown Store Cattle Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their fortnightly sale of feeding cows, store and breeding cattle on Tuesday 21^st May 2019. A nice entry of cattle sold at recent rates with the majority being yearling cattle, again with quality lots selling well.

Sale topped at £1,090 for an Angus bullocks shown by Snowhill Partners, Ericstane, Moffat with Limousins to £1,070 from CT & J Wigham, Hethermill, Kirklinton. Heifers to £1,050 for a British Blue again from Ericstane.

Breeding cattle sold to £1,450 for a Limousin cow with heifer calf from TM Ewart, Barkbeth, Bassenthwaite with Simmental cows with bull calves to £1,400 from C Waugh, Uppertown, Carlisle. Beef Shorthorn bulls sold to £2,000 from MJ & JA Dobson, Hillhead, Dumfries.
