Longtown Store Cattle Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their prize show and sale of 546 suckler calves on Saturday 5th October 2019. A fantastic show of cattle was presented to a full ringside of active buyers to ensure all vendors leaving pleased with their days trading.

The prize show was kindly sponsored by Capontree Vets and ably judged by Mr J Crichton, Loughrigg, Egremont, who was faced with several strong classes of cattle. After much deliberation the Championship was awarded to a smart Limousin heifer; which was first in her class, shown by G Mitchinson & Sons, Gallowberry, Kirkcambeck, who also went on to receive the Reserve Champion with their 2nd prize Limousin heifer. Best Charolais award was for a Charolais heifer from WG & HM Kyle, Spoutbank, Walton.
