Great Annual Kirkcambeck Sale' of Traditional Breed Cattle
C&D Auction Marts Limited had forward an entry of 714 store cattle at the Annual Kirkcambeck sale on Saturday 12th October 2019.
A large ringside of buyers from a wide area ensured a trade far in excess of vendors expectation with averages increasing by over £60 on the year. Cattle were shown in better bloom and a credit must go to all vendors.
Topping the sale was Angus bullocks from Messrs E Taylor & Son, Wallish Walls, Consett at £1,030, closely followed by Blue-Grey bullocks making £1,010 from Farney Shield & Holme Head.
Within the sale was also a show for native bred store cattle and for beef shorthorn store cattle; which was kindly supported by Morrisons and the Beef Shorthorn Cattle Society, and both ably judged by Mr Jim Holden, Morrisons who’s awards were as follows:
