Longtown Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Limited held their Annual Spring Kirkcambeck Sale of native bred cattle in conjunction with the Special Annual Spring Sale of continental store cattle on Saturday 16th March 2024.

A very mixed show of cattle, with strength proving very good to sell whilst younger cattle showing the weather proved harder to cash on the year.

Topping the sale was a pure bred Aberdeen Angus Bull consigned by new vendors M/s Lishman, Fell Lane, Hexham which went on to realise £2,500 with others to £2,400.  

The sale of Beef bred Shorthorns, that was kindly supported by the Beef Shorthorn Cattle Society and Morrisons, was well received topping at £1,720 for bullock from R Vevers & Co., Burnfoot Hill, Lockerbie.
