Longtown Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their fortnightly sale of store and breeding cattle on Tuesday 26th November 2024.

A mixed offering of cattle were forward to a bustling ringside of potential purchasers, with all classes in demand throughout. The highlight of the sale was a tremendous run of 14 seriously well bred Limousin cross and British Blue cross bulls shown by Reed & Hill, Lingey Field, Hexham which sold to a top of £2,020, £1,920 (x2) and £1,800 (x3), averaging a staggering £1,760 at 10 months old.

Store cattle and feeding bulls are in very high demand and more can certainly be sold to vendor advantage at this venue.

Breeding cattle sold to £1,800 and £1,750 for Angus cows with calves at foot from WP Ross-Taylor, Littlegill, Abington.

Sale to note:- Christmas Primestock Show and Sale at Longtown Mart on Saturday 7th December 2024. Expected entry of 150 prime cattle, 40 cast cows and 2,500 prime lambs.

The next store cattle sale will be Tuesday 17th December, followed by the Special January Sale of store cattle, suckler calves and breeding cattle on 14th January.
