Longtown Store Sheep Sale Report

The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC had forward 1,189 head of ewes, shearlings and hoggs with lambs at foot at Longtown on Tuesday 20th May 2014.

A busy ring of buyers and some good warm weather meant trade easily maintained recent rates.

The sale was topped at £101 for Greyface hoggs with Texel lambs from Messrs Kidd, Briggle, Penrith. Ewes with lambs topped at £75 for Greyface 2 shear with singles from P. Musgrave, Sowerby Wood.
