Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers’ Mart plc had forward 1,693 store hoggs and feeding ewes at their sale at Longtown on Tuesday 24th February 2015.

Another excellent entry attracted the usual buyers, all classes easily maintained last week’s extreme rates.

Top £83 for a Beltex hogg from Crookston Farms; Cheviot Mule £78 Priesthaugh; Texel £77 Hazelbank, £74, £73.50 Crookston; Suffolk £76 High Dovecote, £73 Hazelbank, £71.50 Risehead and Nethertofts; North Country Cheviot £72 Marwhirn, £68 Adderston Shiels; Greyface £71 Hazelbank, £70 Allenheads; Charollais £70 Fowrass, £68, £66 Cottage; Half Bred £70 Marwhirn; Hill Cheviot £69, £68 Priesthaugh; Rouge £66 Fowrass; Romney £66 Barend; Blackface £60 Barron House, £59 Dalhabboch and Cramalt, £58 Macherquhat; Swaledale £52 Brigg.
