Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report
The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers’ Mart plc had forward 2,032 store lambs at their weekly sale at Longtown on Tuesday 4th August, 2015.
All classes of lambs dearer on the week and short of requirements with a full ring of buyers operating, again averages down by £5 on the year. Messrs Bradbury, Satchells consignment of Suffolks sold to £60.
Top of £61 for Beltex from Amoshill; Texel £60 Arnmannoch, £58.50 Rinnion Hills and Ina House, £58 Kelsocleugh; Suffolk £60 Satchells; Charollais £55.50 Dunnabie; Cheviot £52 Kelsocleugh; Greyface £51 Parsonshield, £46 Knarr, Bailey Mill and Peghorn Lodge.
Breeding sheep easily sold to £110 for Texels and £105 for Suffolks from Graystale.
