Kintyre Breeding Sheep Sale 2015
C & D Auction Marts Limited, in conjunction with The Kintyre Agricultural Society held its Fifth Annual Sale on Friday 18th September 2015.
An entry of 255 females and 72 rams were forward to a busy ringside of local farmers. A glorious day for the sale also brightened spirits and bidding was fast for all classes with females short of requirements. A near total clearance was had.
The sale topped at £580, twice, firstly for a Texel shearling ram from Messrs Colville, Langa selling to Killean Estate and also for a Suffolk from Messrs Cameron, Gartvaigh, purchased by Messrs Barbour, Keil.
In the breeding female section the sale was topped at £112 for a lovely pen of North Country Cheviot gimmers from Sue Francis, Balure, selling to regular buyer Messrs Gemmill, Ifferdale.
Also included was the part dispersal from Carksie Farm Partnership, which saw all ages of Blackface ewes sell well with plenty of demand.
