Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Limited had forward 2,493 Store Hoggs & Feeding Ewes at their weekly sale at Longtown on Tuesday 15th March, 2016.

With the usual buyers present and a fine show of hoggs forward, last week’s extreme rates were easily maintained.

Top of £91.50 and £84.50 for Beltex from Michael Baxter, Kilnhill, Gilsland; Texel £85, £83, £80 Sherwen Terrace, £80 Kilnhill; North Country Cheviot £80 Kelsocleugh; Half Bred £75.50 Adderston Shiels; Suffolk £74.50 Achamore, £72 Elibank House; Hill Cheviot £72.50, £71.50 Glendinning; Blackface £70.50 Henderland, £63.50 Megdale; Cheviot Mule £70.50 Achamore; Greyface £70 Barnshangan, £65 Elibank House; Swaledale £57.50, £53.50, £51.50 Riggside; Beulah £56.50 Howcleugh.
