Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Limited had forward 1,491 Store Hoggs & Feeding Ewes, also 152 ewes and lambs at their weekly sale at Longtown on Tuesday 22nd March, 2016.

Store hoggs were another good entry, trade again extremely dear with a keen ringside of buyers. Top of £91 for Beltex hoggs from Gillespie Farms, others to £86.50 and £84.50 from Clints Farming; Texel £84.50 Lower Ashtrees, £80.50 Ringligate; Blackface £78.50 Miltonise; Suffolk £74 Bondgate Close, £72.50 Elibank House; Greyface £68.50 Allenheads, £66.50 Drinkstone, £65.50 Hightown; Hill Cheviots £64 Gillespie Farms; Swaledale £60.50 Hilltop. £54.50 Allenheads; Easycare £57.50 Glenapp Estate.

Cast ewes to £82.50 Coolingel, Hill Types £68.50 from Girnwood, Cast Rams to £61 Coolingel.

Ewes and lambs, more about and a stronger enquiry with trade strong.

Top £73 per head for Suffolks with lambs from Coolingel, who also sold Texels with lambs at £67, and with Greyface with lambs to £50 each from Rockhallhead and Whitegates.
