Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Limited had another good show of 514 Ewes with Lambs at foot forward at Longtown on Tuesday 3rd May 2016.

Best quality were easy to sell with more interest from the ringside, all classes sharper and short of requirements.

Top of £70 for Greyface hoggs with singles from Baggrah. Texel hoggs with singles to £69 from Thomasdene and Low Closegill then £68 from Baggrah. Hoggs with twins to £53 for Texels from Thomasdene.

Shearlings with singles to £64 for Texels from Westhills who also sold Suffolks crosses at £62. Shearlings with twins to £66 for Texels also from Westhills.

Ewes with singles to £60 and £58 for Greyface from High House, Texels to £59 Mid Harrietsfield and £58 from Dufton Wood and Swaledale to £36 from Cross Lane. Texel ewes with twins to £59 from Dufton Wood and Mid Harrietsfield and £54 from Struanlee, £52 Waterloo. Cheviot Mule to £53 from Struanlee. Hill Cheviot to £54 from High House who also sold Blackface to £48. Greyface to £58 High House, £52 Waterloo and Swaledale to £30 from Cross Lane.

Store hoggs to £61 & £60 Pawston.

Feeding ewes to £36 Monk Farm, who also sold a goat to £40.
