C&D Auction Marts Limited had forward a similar entry of 1428 head of ewes and hoggs with lambs at foot at Longtown on Tuesday 17th May 2016.

A better quality show of sheep penned attracted a full ringside of buyers with trade again dearer on the week. Top of £88 for Greyface hoggs and singles from Eden Valley farmer, Peter Kidd, Briggle, Langwathby, who also sold another pen to £83. Continentals with singles to £76 from Clydeside and £75 Wall End. Suffolk crosses with singles to £76 from Upper Hunderlee who also sold another pen at £74, along with Wall End Farm.

Shearlings with twins to £69 for Texels from Westmill Hills.

Shearlings with singles to £53 from Knells Cottage. Blackface with single to £50 from Longrigg who also sold Cheviots at £49.

Ewes with singles to £64 for Greyface from Barrockstown, others to £60 High House and £58 Gall. Texels to £58 Flex and £57 Gall. North Country Cheviots to £56 from Gospel Hall. Hill Cheviots to £54 from Girnwood. Swaledale to £40 and £39 from Gregory Terrace and South Down to £45 from Thornington.
