Longtown Store Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Limited had forward 3,162 store lambs and feeding ewes at their sale at Longtown on Tuesday 22nd November 2016.

Store lambs were a smaller show due to the weather conditions. Buyers much keener with trade being £2-£5 up on the week. Many more could easily have been sold to vendor’s advantage.

Top of £71.50 for Texels from Quarryfield Cottage, others to £67.50 High Lovelady Shield and Roan Cottage. Beltex to £68 Collin Bank and £66.50 Winterhope. Suffolks to £63 Branxholm Braes & Basco Dykehead. Greyface to £67 Cranberry Brow, High Lovelady Shield and Waterhead of Dryfe. Cheviot Mule to £59.50 Geltsdale. Lleyn to £61 Low Tipalt. North Country Cheviots to £62.50 Bradley and £61 Meikle Whitriggs. Hill Cheviots to £56 Granton and £52.50 High Chesters. Blackface to £55 Westhills. Herdwick to £55 Farlam Hill. Swaledale to £30.50 Ouston.

Cast Texel ewes to £95 Alnham, Castlehill who also sold Hill Cheviot ewes to £49.
