Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Limited had forward 1,479 store hoggs & feeding ewes at Longtown on Tuesday 28th February 2017.

With the usual buyers present and a smaller show of hoggs forward, trade was again excellent. Many more could have easily been sold to advantage. Top of £78 for Texel from The Marr, Thornhill, others to £73.50 from Mains Farm. Beltex to £73.50 Fowrass; Suffolks to £65.50 Nether Place; Charolais to £58 Alfornaught; Greyface to £62 Moss Edge and £60 Mains of Collin; Blackface to £62.50 Miltonise; Hill Cheviot to £55.50 Hopsrigg Cottage; Swaledale to £40 Whitfield Farms.

Feeding ewes to £66.50 The Ash (Thompson). Cast rams to £68 Low Tiplat.
