Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

Another large show of 476 ewes with lambs at foot were forward at C&D Auction Marts Limited, Longtown on Tuesday 25th April 2017, with all classes far sharper on the week.

A larger ringside of buyers ensured trade remained firm throughout, selling to a top of £76 a life for a Roussin ewe with a pair of tremendous lambs at foot from Messrs McIntyre, Castlefairn. This was closely followed at £74 a life for a Charollais x Beltex ewe with a pair of smart Beltex lambs at foot from Leanne Kennedy, Whitehill Cottage. A decent show of hill ewes were also keenly sought after selling to a top of £45 a life for Swaledale ewes with Mule lambs at foot.

Many more could have been sold to vendor’s advantage.
