Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

A smaller show of 656 ewes and hoggs with lambs at foot were forward at C&D Auction Marts Limited, Longtown on Tuesday 16th May 2017.

As ever, strong, well-bred outfits were keenly sought after, although older mules and lambs would have been a touch easier. However, hill ewes continued at recent fast rates and a smaller selection of hoggs with lambs at foot realised a steady trade.

Many more outfits are expected next week at our 2^nd show & sale for hoggs and lambs.

Trade topped today at £80 for Texel hoggs and lambs from Messrs Milburn, Wallend and to £68 for Texel ewes and lambs from Messrs Little, Eden Park.
