Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

A slightly smaller show of 597 ewes and hoggs with lambs at foot were forward at C&D Auction Marts Ltd, Longtown on Tuesday 30th May 2017.

A large crowd of buyers including several fresh faces all keen for sheep which ensured that all classes sold well above vendors expectations. Topping at £80 and £78 a life for Mule hoggs and lambs from Messrs Robinson, Prospect Farm, whilst ewes and lambs topped at £78 a life for a Texel ewe with lambs from Matthew Thomson, Pilmuir.

Also included in the sale was a consignment of Blackface stock ewe hoggs from Clints Farming, Crookston, Herriot, which were easily sold at £90 and £80.
