Included in the sale was the annual consignment of over 800 continental lambs from Mr Peter Smith, Cocklakes House, Penruddock, all lambs were presented and shown well and in first class condition. He topped at £76 followed by £75 and averaged £64.13. Overall a rise of £6 per head on the year. </p> <p>Top overall was £80 for Beltex from Coolingel. Suffolks to £70 Cocklakes House, £70 Lower Ashtrees & Ridley. Charollais to £68 Cocklakes House. North Cheviots to £75.50 Dun-mor. Greyface to £63 Coolingel, £63.50 Hightown & Peasemyres. Herdwicks to £46 Butterdale. Kendal Rough to £39 Churchview. Shetland to £46 Dun-mor. Easy Care to £41 East Forissat. Feeding ewes to £62 Hill Crest. </p> <p>Cheviot lambs (1,965) a similar entry with more small lambs forward, trade reasonable for strong lambs. Top at £60.50 Nether Horseburgh, £60 Fell House and £52 Ballacowin, £50 Granton. </p> <p>Blackface lambs (1,512) a fair show strong top lambs dear and short of requirements, smaller lambs still hard to sell. £60 for an outstanding pen from Horseholm. Others to £56 Allensgreen & £53 Yatesfield </p> <p><b>BREEDING SHEEP </b></p> <p>The C&D Auction Marts Ltd held it’s late season sale of 2,747 breeding sheep & rams of all classes. Trade was mixed, as was quality but all animals found new homes. The sale topped at £500 for outstanding Texel ram lamb from regular sale topper A.R. Bell, Kirkton, Hawick selling to Messrs Watson, High Floweryhirst. Females topped at £108 for Texels from Messrs Laird, Yeldabrek, Orkney with hill ewes topping at £76 for North Country Cheviot ewes from Messrs Feakins, Harwood House. </p> <p><b>Principal Prices:-
