Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had 2,926 store hoggs & feeding ewes and rams, together with 414 in lamb ewes at Longtown on Tuesday 6th February 2018.

With more buyers looking for hoggs and an excellent show, trade met record prices, easily the highest so far. If you have hoggs to sell you should be off loading and not miss out on the trade.

Top of £86 for Texels from Westhills, £82 Lane Head and £81 Shaw Cottage. Beltex to £84.50 Cocklicks and £83.50 Allfornaught. Suffolks to £82 Albierigg, £81 Satchells and £80 Allfornaught. Charollais to £77 The Flatt (Atkinson). Zwartbles to £77 Westhills. Greyface to £69.50 Allfornaught, £67 Satchells and £64.50 School Cottage. North Cheviots to £68.50 Ellary Farms & Snowhill, £68 Allfornaught. Jacobs to £64 Dun-Mor. Hill Cheviots to £64.50 Granton and £63.50 Sherra Craig. Beulah to £70.50 Howcleugh. In lamb ewes were a similar show and demand was stronger on the week. Top of £119 and £112 for Texels from Dunjop. Greyface to £104 and £102 (2) Kirkcarsewell. Easycare to £85 Croys Lodge. Ewe lambs to £88.
