C&D Auction Marts Ltd had forward 1,373 store hoggs and feeding ewes together with ewes and lambs at Longtown on Tuesday 3rd April 2018.

Once again store hoggs met a flyer and well short of buyer requirements for a poorer quality entry. Top of £117 for Beltex hoggs from Downan, others to £111 Lochwoodmains and £96 Clints Farming. Texels to £111 Lochwoodmains and £93 Stanley Road. Charollais to £113 Lochwoodmains. Suffolks to £83 Ballacoar Farm. North Cheviots to £80 Low Bridge End. Hill Cheviots to £74 Bloch. Greyface to £98 Greenburn. Cheviot Mules to £84 Cooilingel. Blackface to £81 Clints Farming and £72 Corsebank. Herdwick to £56 and £50 Ulzieside. Zwartbles to £67 Ballacoar Farm. Feeding ewes to £86 Oliver Road and £76 Downan. Cast rams to £48 from Ballaharry Farms.

A small opening show of ewes and lambs sold to a top of £90 and £79 for correct below Suffolk ewes with single lambs from Oliver Park. Mixed aged Texel ewes with twin Beltex lambs sold to £76 a life from Messrs MacIntyre, Downan and many more required to suit buyer’s requirements.
