Longtown Store Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their grand opening sale of 2,136 Store Lambs on Tuesday 31st July 2018.

A packed ring of buyers were present including customers as far as Shropshire and Devon, trade was animated from start to finish with all breeds of lambs meeting an exceptional trade, numbers forward short of requirements.

Included in the sale was annual consignments from Messrs Bradbury, Satchells selling to a top of £65.50 and Messrs Jardine, Fairgirth also selling to a top of £65.50.

Top price of the day was £83 for Texels from Towsbank, others to £78.50 Fallowlees, £78 & £77 Pasture Lane. Cheviots to £65.50 Fairgirth. Suffolks to £65.50 Satchells. Cheviot Mules to £65.50 Embley. Mule (Greyfaces) met a strong trade with a top of £63 Softley.

Feeding ewes to £45 Stone Hall, Sheila Hill and Waterhead of Dryfe.
