Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their weekly sale of 2,707 store lambs on Tuesday 4th August 2020 at Longtown.

Trade for strong short keep lambs and best bred Beltex lambs firm. A larger show of longer keep lambs maintained last weeks rates of return.

Topping the sale was a fantastic pen of Beltex lambs consigned by G & CE Edminson, Middle Farm, Rockcliffe realising an eye watering £110. A big portion of the sale would be Mules selling to a top of £76 consigned by Messrs Carruthers, Merkland.

Many more are needed to satisfy purchaser demand as purchasers travelled from as far as Devon and Wales, whilst an abundance of local buyers ensured all classes were sold to vendor advantage.
