Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had forward 5,531 store lambs and feeding ewes at Longtown on Tuesday 1st December 2020.

Another large entry attracted extra buyers from Yorkshire, all classes met a strong demand throughout with trade again dearer on the week. Lowland lambs averaged £78.62 with hill lambs averaging £61.16.

Feeding ewes (498) were a larger show and much dearer. Top £90 for Texels from Abbots Close; Greyfaces to £75.50 Hamburn Hall; North Country Cheviots to £90 Campbeltown; Leicesters to £80 Benmore.
