Longtown Store Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had forward 3,068 store hoggs, cast ewes and rams at their sale at Longtown on Tuesday 2nd February 2021.

A better show of hoggs attracted the usual buyers, who were eager for supplies, trade easily the best of the season with numbers short of demand. Top £132 & £127 for Texels from Lingey Field, others to £126 Channel Well; Beltex to £124 from High Parkfoot & Broomhills, £123 & £122 Mains of Collin; Suffolks to £116 & £110 Sandvilla, £113 Wydon Eals, £108 Broomhills; Greyfaces to £116 Lyne Farm, £109 Wydon Eals, £105 Old Police House; Cheviot Mules to £104 White Knowe; North Country Cheviots to £100 Sandvilla; Hill Cheviots to £100 Satchells; Blackfaces to £97 Glenshanna, £95 Riskinhope Trust, £93 Balker Farms, £90 Nether Place; Woodlands to £75 Smales Farm; Swaledales to £67 Shield; Herdwicks to £67 Allerbeck.
