Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts saw another great show of hoggs and ewes with lambs at foot forward to another strong ringside of buyers with several volume purchasers in attendance at their weekly sale on Tuesday 25th May 2021.

Good hoggs with lambs in demand selling to a top of £122 for a pen of 12 Texel hoggs with lambs from Messrs Carr, Highwood who sold others at £118 and £115.  A single correct Texel ewe with twin Texel lambs sold at £110 a life from Messrs Stephenson, West Millhills, many more outfits can be sold to vendors advantage in the ring here at Longtown.

A seasonal show of store hoggs & feeding ewes met another buoyant trade.  Top in the hoggs was £100 for Texels from Hamburn Hall who also sold Greyface at £81 with Shetlands to £50 Glen Stables.  Feeding ewes sold to £90 and £82 for Dutch Texels from Greenside Farm with Greyfaces to £76 Hamburn Hall.
