Longtown Store Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had forward 5,011 store lambs at their weekly sale on Tuesday 31st August 2021.

A good show of lambs forward, in general were smaller on the week, trade was excellent from start to finish with prices firmer on the week. Once again there was a large company of local and distant buyers present.

Top £107 for Texels from AD Batey, Heathery Knowe, Longtown, others to £101 Rinnion Hills, £100 Longformacus Farms; Beltex to £102 Rinnion Hills, £100 Heathery Knowe, £98.50 Old Post Office; Suffolks to £93 Foulsyke; Cheviot Mules to £93 Gall Farm; Cheviots to £81 Skelfhill, £80 Keepers Cottage; Greyfaces to £104 The Hagg, £91 Laverhay & Gall Farm; Herdwicks to £87 Winter Craig; Blackfaces to £72 The Row, £70 Edges Green; Zwartbles to £88.50 Little Marsh; Beulah to £79 The Hollies.
