Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had forward 3,567 store hoggs, feeding ewes and cast rams at their weekly sale at Longtown on Tuesday 23rd January 2024.

With buyers from as far as Essex, a smaller show of hoggs met another good trade which would be classed as dearest of the season, more numbers required to meet buyers requirements.

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had forward 450 Inlamb ewes, topping the sale was a fantastic pedigree Texel gimmer scanned twins from the Lauder flock, J Connell, Wanton Walls, realising £500. Texel cross gimmers topped at £205 from AH Fisher, Merrick. Cheviot Mules Gimmers selling to £178 also from AH Fisher, Merrick. A pen of 26 2 crop Mule ewes topped at £168 from H Richardson, Harn Bank Farm.
